Mardan is the second largest city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa having total population of 2.5 million (approx.). Mardan is located at an ideal geographical location connecting to districts Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshera, and Malakand region. Currently there are only two Public Sector Universities in District Mardan having no existence of private University in the region.

Since there are limited educational institutes having limited seats for the students in District Mardan, majority of the students are compelled to move to other cities to pursue their educational desires.
